Description:

Using keen eyesight, binoculars and spotting scopes, help keep count raptors migrating north to their breeding grounds.

Join park volunteers and naturalists to spot and count thousands of migrating raptors this spring.  Hop on the shuttle and meet at the Hawk Tower every day in March and April (weather permitting).  Bring your binoculars, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and drinking water.

Birds of prey are important indicators of environmental well-being.  Bentsen's annual Hawk Watch contributes to HawkCount, a long-term study monitoring raptor population trends and is the largest standardized raptor migration network in the world. A project of Hawk Migration Association of North America (www.hawkcount.org).
